Obituary of Jack Pine

Jack PineJack Elijah Pine of Eugene died March 5 of cancer. He was 80. A private memorial service is planned.He was born June 21, 1929, in Lebanon, Mo., to Charles and Sarah Garrett Pine. He married Ada Hawkins on Sept. 21, 1952, in Lebanon, Mo. She died Oct. 4, 2007.He graduated from high school in Lebanon, Mo., and held an associate degree in electronics from the College of San Mateo in California. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He worked for the federal government in the Department of Defense. and retired in 1992.Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Dennis of Eugene and June Wheat of Gresham; two sons, Kenneth of Lusaka, Zambia, and Michael of Missouri; and seven grandchildren.Inurnment will be at Eugene Masonic Cemetery.
