Obituary of Richard Upward

Richard Upward Sr.Richard Gordon “Dirk” Upward Sr. of Eugene died March 6 at age 77. The family chose not to list the cause of death. A service is planned at a later date.He was born April 29, 1932, in Los Angeles to Garold and Marjorie Elder Upward. He married Clare Fritsch on March 21, 1953, in Lynwood, Calif.He work- ed as a marine mechanic and boat builder for 40 years, working for Staff Jennings Boating Center. He retired in 1998.Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert, Steven and Gordon, all of Eugene; a brother, Donald of Henderson, Nev.; a sister, Margie Geyer of Buena Park, Calif.; and three grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
