Obituary of Charles Turner

Charles TurnerCharles L. “Charlie” Turner of Eugene died Feb. 13 of cancer. He was 93. No service is planned.He was born Dec. 17, 1916, in Olympia, to Andrew and Claire Hamby Turner. He and his wife, Josephine, were married in 1935 in Olympia. She died Nov. 8, 1995.He served as a navigation office on the USS Kankakee in the Navy during World War II, He served in major battles in the South Pacific campaign from 1942 to 1945. He worked as a log truck driver.Survivors include three nephews in Washington.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
