Obituary of William Nichols

William NicholsCRESWELL — William “Bill” Nichols of Creswell died March 26 of pneumonia. He was 80.Nichols was born June 15, 1929, in Brainard, Minn., to Lauren and Eva Caughey Nichols. He married Dorothy McFarland on July 1, 1959 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She died in 2004.He attend the Minnesota Agriculture School in St. Paul, Minn., and served with the Army in the Korean War. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic.Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Kay Meng and Gwen Eakle, both of Creswell; a son, Larry Meng of Eugene; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Arrangements by England’s Creswell Memorial Chapel.
