JUNCTION CITY — A memorial service will be held Tuesday for John Wesley Baker Jr. of Junction City, who died March 25 of congestive heart failure. He was 84.Baker was born Dec. 26, 1925, in Havre, Mont., to John and Bertha Keller Baker. He married Betty Williams on Feb. 8, 1946 in Fairview, Mont.He had degrees in geological, electrical and nuclear engineering. He served in the Air Force for 24 years and later worked at Westinghouse. From 1982 to 2000, he ran an orchard with his brother.Survivors include his wife, a son, Jack of Benton City; a sister, Carrie Low of Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, Bill of Meridian, Idaho and Toby of Nampa, Idaho; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.A daughter Marsha “Rae” Nicholson, died previously.The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Junction City. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City.Remembrances to Sacred Heart Hospice, First Christian Church and Junction City Fire and Ambulance.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.
