Obituary of Gene Stringfield

Gene StringfieldA memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Willamette Christian Center for Gene Stringfield of Eugene, who died April 19 of complications of lung cancer. He was 71.He was born May 27, 1938, in Walla Walla, Wash., to John and Alberta Davis Stringfield. He married Ruth Pickering on Feb. 25, 1961, in Eugene.He graduated from Eugene High School in 1956. He was owner and operator of Gene Stringfield Building Materials in Eugene, starting in 1968.Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark of Eugene; two brothers, Bill of Eugene and Don of Springfield; two sisters, Margaret Fritts of Seattle and Joanne Chamberlin of Eugene; and three grandchildren.Burial will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.
