Obituary of Ralph Slaughter

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for Ralph L. Slaughter of Eugene, who died April 13 of age-related causes. He was 88. Burial will take place at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene.He was born July 11, 1921, in New Mexico to Chester and Winnie Hadlock Slaughter. He married Hazel Slaughter on Jan. 16, 1943, in Wichita Falls, Texas.He was a farmer in Oklahoma. He then worked for Georgia Pacific in Eugene until his retirement in 1986.Survivors include his wife; three sons, Vern, Ray and Dale, all of Eugene; a brother, Sam of Sweet Home; three sisters, Frances Ottem of Santa Rosa, Calif., Lois McKaughn of Stillwater, Okla., and Helen Smith of Walla Walla, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
