Beulah MikkelsenSPRINGFIELD — A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Eugene for Beulah “Maxine” Mikkelsen of Springfield, who died April 26 of pneumonia and age-related causes. She was 85.Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.She was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Lebanon to Edson and Cassie Godwin Jones. She married Paul Schummer on June 29, 1946, in Portland. He died in 1952. She married Eugene Mikkelsen on Aug. 31, 1956, in Eugene. He died Feb. 19, 2005.She graduated from Sweet Home High School and attended beauty college in Portland. She worked at the Swan Island shipyard during World War II. She worked as a beautician for 40 years and worked as a cook for the Bethel School District. She and her husband grew grass seed, cattle and chicks on their farm.Survivors include a son, Robert of Lebanon; a daughter, Pauline Kaldahl of Springfield; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene. Remembrances to Gateway Gardens or Bethesda Lutheran Church.
