Obituary of John Garner

John GarnerA celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 3, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for John Willard Garner of Eugene, who died April 28 of cancer. He was 80.He was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Salem to Orel and Sophia Girod Garner. He married Daisy Watson on Aug. 19, 1973.He graduated from Salem High School. He worked in the grocery business, food brokerage and real estate.Survivors include his wife; a son, John of Cottage Grove; two daughters, Theresa Scholz of Eugene and Pam Call of Creswell; a stepson, Rory Baarstad of Eugene; three stepdaughters, Margo Johnson of Stockton, Calif., Tracey Miner of Springfield and Kelly Kayser of Eugene; 22 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.A private inurnment will be held in Salem.
