Obituary of George Acireno

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for George H. “Hank Reno” Acireno of Eugene, who died May 8 of heart failure. He was 67. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., May 14, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.He was born Nov. 26, 1942, in Selma, Calif., to James and Cleo Belle Anthony Acireno. He married Martha Abshere on Oct. 26, 1991, in Springfield.He served in the U.S. Army. He was a musician, professional cowboy, truck driver and manager for Acireno Tractor Service.Survivors include his wife; one son, Mark of Eugene; four daughters, Sharon Beaty of Ocean Park, Wash., Gina Sholian of Portland, Mechelle Yates of Rainier and Angie Anderson of Wasilla, Alaska; two stepsons, Brian Abshere of Blain, Wash., and Jeff Abshere of Billings, Mont.; a brother, Michael Acireno of Washington; a sister, Anna Blakemore of Noti; and 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
