Obituary of Lyle Pearson
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene for Lyle A. Pearson of Salem, a former 60-year resident of Lane County, who died May 15 of age-related causes. He was 85. A private service is planned.He was born Jan. 19, 1925, in Steele City, Neb., to Chester and Bessie Smith Pearson. He married Ellen Moore on June 1, 1947, in Eugene. She died June 30, 2004.He graduated from Steele City High School. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He attended Oregon State University and the University of Oregon. He managed Cone Lumber Company for 17 years and owned Coburg Building Supply for 15 years. He worked as a lumber broker for 20 years and retired in his early 70s.Survivors include two daughters, Janet Kudszus of Salem and Joan Kovarik of Dexter; a son, Larry of Cali, Colombia; a brother, William of Creswell; a sister, Jean Tucket of Creswell; and four grandchildren.Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene.
