Obituary of Phyllis Cunningham

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 24, at Springfield Memorial Gardens for Phyllis V. Cunningham of Eugene, who died May 19 of age-related causes. She was 86.She was born Nov. 15, 1923, in Spokane to Phillip and Vida Sutphin Barry. She married Fred Cunningham on July 24, 1941, in Coquille. He died Sept. 15. 1972.During World War II, she worked for Boeing Airplane Co. She later worked for Kaufman’s in downtown Eugene and later at Valley River Center.Survivors include two sons, Jim of Springfield and Tim of Eugene; two brothers, Don Barry of Alexandria, Va., and Ralph “Jim” Walker Jr. of Washington; a sister, Suzanne Leiblein of Eugene; and four grandchildren.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
