Obituary of Charles Farnsworth
The memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at Victory Tabernacle in Springfield for Charles Leroy Farnsworth of Springfield, who died May 26 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 77.He was born March 12, 1933, in Willow Springs, Mo., to Charles and Bessie Farnsworth. He married Gertrude Ellen Rose on Aug. 12, 1953, in Jasper. She died March 2, 2002.He served in the U.S. Army in Panama. He worked as a mill worker, logger and for the Oregon Department of Forestry, where he retired after 20 years.Survivors include sons Ken of Springfield and Phillip of Jasper; daughters Joan Rofinot of Junction City and Sherri Hayles of Springfield; sisters Edith Admire of Veneta, Betty Sue Sylvester of Puyallup, Wash., Freda Clark and Dora Fattig; and eight grandchildren.Arrangements by Spring-field Memorial Funeral Home.
