Obituary of Carl Peterson

Carl O. Peterson of Springfield died May 27 of age-related causes. He was 89. No service is planned.He was born July 28, 1920, in Red Lodge, Mont., to Orville and Myrtle Cox Peterson. He married Velma Bennett on Jan. 2, 1943, in Columbus, Mont.He graduated Columbus High School. He hauled gravel for Roseburg Lumber, worked as a logger and worked for 34 years as a heavy-equipment operator for Weyerhaeuser in Springfield until his retirement in 1983.Survivors include his wife; a son, Douglas of Springfield; two daughters, Judy Kemp of Springfield and Kathy Venn of Minnesota; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene. Remembrances to Gateway Gardens in Eugene.
