Obituary of Gordon Cheffings

Gordon CheffingsA celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Premier RV Resort in Eugene for W. Gordon Cheffings of Eugene, who died June 18 of lung cancer. He was 71.Cheffings was born Jan. 28, 1939, in Salem to Wesley and Eupha Humphrey Cheffings. He married Nancy Arant on Aug. 14, 1972, in Eugene.He attended Lane Community College and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a carman and welder for Southern Pacific Railroad for 32 years.Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles, of Eugene; a stepdaughter, Diane Raack of Eugene; a stepson, John Dillon of Glide; and nine grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
