Bernard BoekhorstBernard Derek Johann “Ben” Boekhorst of Eugene died July 20 of complications of diabetes. He was 60. A private family service is planned.He was born April 9, 1950, in Arnhem, Netherlands, to Karel and Johanna Mollenkemp Boekhorst. He married Terri Berge on Oct. 11, 1980, in Clear Lake, Calif.He worked for Keizer Hospital in Oakland, Calif., in the chart room. He worked in various capacities at the Travel Lodge in Oakland, the Beverly Rodeo Hotel in Los Angeles and the Valley River Inn in Eugene. He worked as a wood grader for Emerald Forest Products for more than 10 years.Survivors include his wife, of Cheshire; and two daughters, Alicia Boekhorst and Brittany Sansone, both of Eugene.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
