Obituary of Gordy Gary

Gordy GaryGordy P. Gary of Eugene died July 27 of age-related causes. He was 85. A memorial service is planned for a later date.He was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Rayne, La., to Anatole and Etta Hulin Gary. He married Lorraine McGill on April 15, 1945, in Palo Alto, Calif. She died Jan. 1, 2001.He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He worked as a general contractor, building homes in the Bay area and as superintendent in the construction of the Great America Theme Park.Survivors include a daughter, Antoinette Mills of San Jose, Calif.; two sons, William of Eugene and Michael of Hidden Valley Lake, Calif.; three sisters, Jeanette Mazeres of Nashville and Marie Benoit and Bertha Lacombe, both of Rayne; a brother, Wilton of Rayne; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
