Verdis MorganSPRINGFIELD — A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Springfield for Verdis Morgan of Springfield, who died Aug. 8 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 81.He was born March 29, 1929, in Thornton, Idaho, to John and Lillie Morgan. He married Barbara Stovall on Aug. 10, 1974, in Vancouver, Wash.He worked in sales and service for Viking Sewing Center in Eugene; was self-employed servicing sewing machines in Reno, Nev.; and worked for H & R Block in Reno.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry and Stephen of Portland; four stepsons, Ken Clark of Cherry Valley, Calif., Russell Stovall of Houston, Steven Stovall of Springfield and Timothy Stovall of Houston; two stepdaughters, Pamela Bolton of Fort Mohave, Ariz., and Holly Sandercock of Portland; a brother, Melvin of Creswell; a sister, Geraldine Johnston of Nashville, Tenn; and 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.Arrangements by England Memorial Chapel.
