Obituary of Charles Porter

Charles PorterCRESWELL — A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Creswell Pioneer Cemetery for Charles Ace Porter, who died Aug. 15. The family chose not to list the cause of death. He was 73.He was born June 25, 1937, in Cushing, Okla., to Ace Dan and Nellie Marie Herring Porter. He married Bernice Bartis on Dec. 22, 1954, in Eureka, Calif.He was a finish carpenter and co-owner of Gale Roberts Construction.Survivors include his wife; three sons, Lenny of Petersburg, Alaska., Randall of Pleasant Hill and Steven of Creswell; three sisters, Dolly Lamar of Creswell, Myrtle Fitzgerald of Arizona and Linda Bellew of Cornelius; two brothers, Frank of Missouri and Lyle of Creswell; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Arrangements by England’s Creswell Memorial Chapel.
