Obituary of Donald Hardy

Donald HardySPRINGFIELD — Donald R. Hardy of Springfield died Aug. 23 of age-related causes. He was 92. A private memorial service is planned.He was born March 11, 1918, in Humbolt, Neb., to Wilson and Jessie Wilson Hardy. He married Patricia Young on Oct. 24, 1945, in Wichita, Kan. She died Jan. 6. 2005.He graduated from Fairbury High School in Fairbury, Neb. He served in the Army during World War II. He was the owner and operator of a grade A dairy in Nebraska for 10 years. He farmed in New Plymouth, Idaho, for 15 years before becoming the deputy county assessor for Payette County, Idaho, for more than 10 years.Survivors include three sons, Donald Jr. of Fort Collins, Colo., Charles of Portland and Steve of Springfield; a daughter, Jane Hunter of Round Mountain, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
