Obituary of Marie Cantrell

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at West Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Eugene for Marie Cantrell of Coburg, who died Aug. 27 of congestive heart failure. She was 91. Visitation will be at noon Thursday at the funeral home.She was born March 30, 1919, in Cove City, Ark., to John and Nellie Powell Smith. She married John Cantrell on Nov. 2, 1933, in Strickler, Ark. He died May 9, 2001.She was a homemaker.Survivors include a daughter, Laverna Boggs of Mapleton; two brothers, Ivan Smith of Eugene and Harold Smith of Parksburg, Pa.; a sister, Joanne Odom of Arlington, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Six sons, Wayne, Norman, Ben, Douglas, Larry and John, died previously.Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene. Remembrances to Cascade Health Solutions Hospice.
