Obituary of Evelyn Rutledge

Evelyn RutledgeEvelyn Rutledge of Eugene died Aug. 30 of age-related causes. She was 86. A private graveside service is planned at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Seaside.She was born July 10, 1924, in Walnut Creek, Mo., to Bernard and Mabel Bonebreak Bird. He married William “Jim” Rutledge on April 5, 1946, in Bolivar, Mo. He died May 26, 2004.She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in 1959, from OCE and a master’s degree in education. She worked as an elementary school teacher in California, Washington and Eugene.Survivors include two sons, Armand of Eugene and Greg of Beaverton; a brother, Bernard Bird of Seaside; a sister, Ethel Weatherman of Roseburg; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Jamie Jo Rutledge, died in 1954.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or Awbrey Park Elementary School Scholarship Fund.
