Obituary of John Tracy

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at West-Lawn Funeral Home for John Tracy Edwards of Eugene, who died Sept. 2 of age-related causes. He was 100. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home.He was born on Feb. 18, 1910, in Victoria, Texas, to Arthur and Florence Ridgeway Tracy. He married Vivian Shoff in December 1931 in the Council Bluffs area of Nebraska.He attended high school in Moorehead, Iowa. He was the mayor of Englewood, Neb., and was the general maintenance manager for Hormel Foods in Nebraska.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Charlene Weyant of Eugene; a son, Jay Tracy of Hermiston; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.Arrangements by England’s Eugene Memorial Chapel.
