John AdamsSPRINGFIELD — John D. Adams of Springfield died Sept. 6 of age-related causes. He was 95. The funeral was held at Sept. 9 at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.He was born May 24, 1915, in Donna to John and Elva Waller Adams. He married Dorothy Turner on Aug. 14, 1942, in Springfield. She died May 21, 2004.He attended Springfield public schools. He served in the military during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation as a sign foreman for 42 years.Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Rumsey of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Mary Lou Gamble of Hazelhurst, Ga.; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to Oregon National Guard Emergency Relief Fund in Salem.
