Obituary of Irene McChesney

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for Irene Lewman McChesney, who died Sept. 8 of lung cancer at age 79.She was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Haxton, Colo., to Arthur and Baisa Freemeyer Lewman. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1950. She worked as a bookkeeper in the timber industry for about 30 years and completed her career at Pennington Crossarm Co. in Eugene.Survivors include three sons, Doug and Ron, both of Eugene, and Mark of Snohomish, Wash., and two grandchildren.
