Obituary of Beatrice Long

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at Valley River Baptist Church in Eugene for Beatrice R. “Bea” Long of Eugene, who died Sept. 5 of cancer. She was 86.She was born on Dec. 8, 1923, in Dumont, N.J., to Henry and Maria Sibbert Ruge. She married Delbert Long on May 8, 1948, in San Diego.She worked at Manhattan Bank in New York City, in a library in Kennewick, Wash., and for the Oregon Lung Association in Eugene until her retirement.Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Debi Morse of Brooks and Pauli Long of Portland; a son, Ric of Eugene; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
