Obituary of James Blankenship
James “Arlie” Blankenship of Eugene died Aug. 16 of pulmonary fibrosis. He was 81.The private funeral and entombment will be held at Springfield Memorial Gardens.He was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Hollis, Ark., to John and Martha Bean Blankenship. He married Margory E. Mart on Dec. 4, 1954, in Eugene.He served in the Army from 1950 to 1952 as a machine-gunner during the Korean War. He worked for Rosboro Lumber for 42 years and was a general contractor.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mike of Springfield and Randy of Eugene; a daughter, Teresa Dymock of Eugene; a sister, Sue Gimby of Springfield; and four grandchildren.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Funeral Home.Remembrances to the National Alliance on Men-tal Illness or Sacred Heart Hospice.
