Obituary of Alfaretta Spores

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Willamette Christian Center in Eugene for Alfaretta Fayene Spores of Eugene, who died Sept. 29 of age-related causes. She was 90. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.She was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Eugene to Julian and Blanche Tozier Brinkley. She married George Spores on July 17, 1949, in Lane County. He died in 1991.She held a bachelor’s degree in business. She served in the U.S. Army Air Force in fighter command warning services. She worked as an accountant for Stretch and Sew for 20 years.Survivors include a daughter, Louise Waugh of Lebanon; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A grandchild, Nancy Lanette Gulling, died in 1987 and another grandchild, Debbie JoAnn Carper, died previously.Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
