Obituary of Floyd Murray

Floyd MurrayThe funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Bethel Temple for Floyd R. Murray of Eugene, who died Oct. 1 of leukemia. He was 85.Visitation will precede the service at 10 a.m. at Bethel Temple.He was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Granville and Delilah Parker Murray. He married Dorothy Bowden on June 23, 1949, in Fresno, Calif. She died July 4, 2001.He was a U.S. Marine for more than 22 years, and served during World War II and the Korean War.He later worked in the paint department for Peterbilt Motors for 20 years before retiring in 1986.Survivors include two daughters, Susan Freimarck and Deborah Dowdy, both of Eugene; a son, Robert of Eugene; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
