Esther ScallionThe funeral Mass will be held at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene for Esther Laverne Scallion of Eugene, who died Oct. 4 of age-related causes. She was 97.She was born March 12, 1913, in Goodland, Kan. She married Francis Scallion on Dec. 26, 1932, in Goodland. He died Dec. 28, 1996.She graduated from high school in Goodland. She worked as a sales clerk at Woolworth’s for many years.Survivors include two sons, Scottie of Springfield and Paul of Eugene; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.Burial will be Tuesday at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eugene. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to the Alzheimer’s Association, Cascade Coast Division.
