Obituary of Della Twite

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 at Central Lutheran Church for Della Marie Twite of Eugene, who died Oct. 22 of age-related causes. She was 94.She was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Tabor, S.D., to Albert and Mary Plavec Kortan. She married Harvey Twite on Feb. 25, 1942, in Fort Lewis, Wash.She was a Eugene restaurateur and had owned The College Side Inn, The Bavarian and Edgewood Coffee Shop. She later became a dietitian.Survivors include three daughters, Elaine Mattson of Beaverton, Lanae Twite of Falls Church, Va., and Charlene Brown of Shoreline, Wash.; two sons, Tom of Yakima, Wash., and Gary of Kent, Wash.; two sisters, Mabel Pick of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Blanche Steward of Burke, S.D.; and eight grandchildren.
