Obituary of Thelma Hunt

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at the Springfield Assembly of God Church for Thelma Gean Hunt of Springfield, who died Oct. 26 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was 70.She was born Dec. 8, 1939, in Canalou, Mo., to William and Letha Heather Ross. She married Jimmy Hunt on Nov. 2, 1956, in Fireball, Calif.A high school graduate, she worked as a waitress, fruit picker, at a dry cleaners, as a millworker and at a tanning salon. She also was a homemaker.Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cheryl Cone of Sandy and Sandra Bennett of Estacada; two sons, Jimmy of McCloud, Calif., and Charlie of Eugene; three sisters, Geraldine Dieball of Eugene, Linda Carter of Los Banos, Calif., and Barbara Bell of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, William Ross of Merced, Calif., and Rex Paul Ross of Illinois; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.Burial will be at noon Friday at West Lawn Memorial Park.Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.
