Obituary of Owen Grover

Owen Grover Sr.A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Peterson Barn Community Center for Owen L. “Oley” Grover Sr. of Eugene, who died Nov. 7 from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 82.He was born May 15, 1928, in Vancouver, B.C., to Lawrence and Olive Dawes Grover. He married Alice Davis on Sept. 20, 1958, in Bellingham, Wash.He worked as a conductor on the Canadian Pacific Railroad and Southern Pacific Railroad for 32 years. Before that, he was in the Merchant Marine from 1944 to 1949.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Sanchez of North Delta, B.C.; five sons, Gordon of Tucson, Ariz., Michael of Edmonds, Wash., Owen Jr. of Monroe, Stanley of Eugene and Craig of Portland; and 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
