Obituary of Roy Richardson

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at McKenzie High School for Roy Richardson of Leaburg who died Oct. 14 of cancer at age 80. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.He was born on June 13, 1930, in Oregon City to John and Adene Warner Richardson. He married Doris Rathbun on Aug. 18, 1950, in Vida.He graduated from McKenzie High School in 1949.He worked in the timber industry, including as heavy-equipment operator, mechanic and hauler, gyppo log truck owner, peeler core truck owner.He was a feed store owner, contract fence builder, and owner-operator of a rock hauling-septic construction company.Survivors include his wife; a son, Clifford of Finn Rock; two daughters, Linda Bounds of Lebanon and Terrie Schaff of Sisters; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
