William BrooksA memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Valley River Baptist Church in Eugene for William L. Brooks of Eugene, who died Dec. 3 of Parkinson’s disease and Lewy Body disease. He was 66.He was born May 31, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to James and Dortha Greene Brooks. He married Marilyn Blatchley on Sept. 4, 1964, in Eugene.He graduated from South Eugene High School and attended Lane Community College and the University of Oregon. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired as a police agent for the Eugene Police Department in 1996 and worked for five years as a background investigator for the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brian and Robin, both of Eugene; a daughter, Susan Armstrong of Coopville, Wash.; four sisters, Donna Stockwell, Rebecca Maynard and Sandra Rose, all of Seattle, and Constance Bockelie of Springfield; two brothers, John of Coburg and James of Seattle; and four grandchildren.Inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Hospice of Sacred Heart, the Parkinson’s Foundation or Valley River Baptist Church.
