Obituary of Brian Duce

Brian Duce Jr.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Eugene for Brian G. “Barney” Duce Jr. of Eugene, who died at age 83. The family chose not to list the cause of death.He was born May 24, 1927, in Flagstaff, Ariz., to Brian and Leah Sandford Duce. He and his wife, Gloria, were married Oct. 16, 1949, in Corvallis.He attended Oregon State University and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a milk distributor for Echo Springs Dairy from 1948 until his retirement in 1988.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie Straughan of Pendleton; two sons, Stuart of Pleasant Hill and Dan of Denver; two brothers, Howard of Corvallis and Bob of Sweet Home; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A son, Allan Duce, died previously.Inurnment will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
