Obituary of James Gilmore

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for James Robert Gilmore, who died Dec. 11 of complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 82.He was born Dec. 30, 1927, in Malcom, Iowa, to Ira and Pearl Galloway Gilmore. He married Ruth Brenner on July 18, 1951, in Bell County, Texas.He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at Georgia-Pacific for more than 30 years.Survivors include his wife; three sons, Roger, Ronnie and Jim, all of Eugene; three sisters, Dorothy Clark of Springfield, Vada Skidmore of North Carolina and Marilyn McEldoney of Milwaukie; a brother, George of Arizona; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Inurnment will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
