Obituary of Harold Rice

Harold RiceA celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 26 at the Willamalane Adult Activity Center in Springfield for Harold Edward Rice of Eugene, who died Dec. 5 of age-related causes. He was 93.He was born June 21, 1917, in Eugene to Clarence and Lemira Lovejoy Rice. He married Leona Johnson on Oct. 18, 1939, in Eugene. She died March 18, 2005.He graduated from Eugene High School in 1934.He owned and operated Rice Farms in Eugene.Survivors include a daughter, Arlene Dietz of Salem; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A son, Edward Rice, died April 24, 1971.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to CASA of Lane County or the OSU Foundation or Friends of the OSAC insect museum.
