Obituary of Roberta Delany

Roberta DelanyRoberta Lucille “Lucy” Smith Menge Delany of Eugene died Dec. 26 of cancer. She was 90. A celebration of life is planned for a later date.She was born May 11, 1920, in Coos River to Edwin and Bertha Beebe Smith. She married Howard Menge in 1942 in Los Angeles. They later divorced. She married Paul Delany in 1957. He died in 1994.She attended San Jose State College. She swam in Billy Rose’s Aquacade in the 1940 World’s Fair in San Francisco and worked as a cook at Territorial School from 1963 to 1980.Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Menge Veatch of Columbia, Mo., and Ann Menge of Eugene; a brother, Norman Beebe Smith of Port Orford; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
