Obituary of Katherine Streight

HARRISBURG — A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 8, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroe for Katherine Cartwright Streight of Harrisburg, who died Jan. 5 of age-related causes. She was 100.She was born Nov. 20, 1910, in Harrisburg to Vivian and Jurine Bradeson Cartwright. She married Jason Streight on March 27, 1936, in Washington. He died in 1991.She graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1928 and attended beauty college. She operated Harrisburg Beauty Shoppe in the 1930s and was a homemaker.Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Thoenen and Jayne Detering, both of Harrisburg; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Adrianna Detering, died Dec. 22, 1996. A great-great-grandson, Tex Bevins, died in 2008.A private family inurnment will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Harrisburg.
