Obituary of Ruth Bahrke

Ruth BahrkeSPRINGFIELD — A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 at Briarwood Assisted Living in Springfield for Ruth Emma Bahrke of Springfield, who died Dec. 28 from complications of a stroke. She was 88.She was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Albany to George and Alma Waschilewsky Ehrlich. She married Jack Bahrke on March 18, 1951, in Albany. He died in 1989.She graduated from Albany High School in 1940; Oregon College of Education in Monmouth; and the University of Oregon, where she earned a master’s degree in 1968. She was a lifelong teacher and school counselor, including at Kelly Middle School and Madison Middle School.Survivors include a son, Bill Bahrke of Bend; a daughter, Judy Moran of Eugene; a sister Adeline Civretta of Newport Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
