Obituary of Sadie Natalia Munro

MUNRO: Sadie Natalie Munro, beloved wife of the late Clifford Muno, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. God blessed them with four children, Beverly H. Munro of N. Surrey, BC, Barbara A. Pasechnik of Wakarusa, IN, Kenneth W. Munro of Yorba Linda, CA and Murray G. Munro of Brandon. Sadie was born on a farm near Horod, Manitoba to Paul and Theodora Black on February 27, 1917. She was one of fifteen siblings, of which three died in infancy. Her siblings were Nick, Annie, Frank, George and Mike Black, Mary Krawchuk and Rose Morgan-Clarke, Peter and Sam Butternowsky, who all preceded her in death. Marjorie Charney, Tom Butternowsky and Stella Handzuk are the three surviving siblings. Sadie was a wonderful homemaker and she enjoyed so much having family or friends and come and visit them. She kept her home spotless and enjoyed making delicious meals for her family and friends. She and Cliff enjoyed gardening and had a large garden for many years. She was always ready to share and encouraged many people with encouraging words and a hug. Sadie was also very health orientated and she walked five miles a day until three years ago when they moved from their home to Victoria Landing. She would like to say, "You either use it or lose it". She was a great encouragement to us, her children, to keep in good health by walking. She made God a priority in her life. She attended Knox United Church for a few years; the Alliance Chapel for a number of years and then since 1970 attended the Worldwide Church of God. Said and Cliff traveled over the years in Canada and the United Stated and made many friends. She will be greatly missed by her children, Bev and Marian, Barb and Dave, Ken and Denise, and Murray; her grandchildren, Jann Niblock, Sarah Munro, Tammy Hinton, Pamela Balch and Daniel Pasechnik; and her eleven great grandchildren. . A funeral service was held at the McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church, on Thursday, June 2, 2011 with Pastor Dan Pope officiating. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to HCJB Global, 3-44 Saltsman Drive, Cambridge, ON N3H 4R7.
