Obituary of Doss Chamberlin

Doss “Pappy” Chamberlin of Springfield died Jan. 12 of age-related causes. He was 89. A celebration of life is planned for later.He was born Feb. 16, 1921, in Eu-gene to Frank and Mabel Chamberlin. He married Marion Wright on Nov. 21, 1949, in Reno, Nev.He graduated from high school in White Rocks, Utah. He served in the Army during World War II, serving in the South Pacific, and during the Korean War. He retired from the Army in 1962. After military service, he worked in several lumber mills. He retired in 1983 after 17 years at American Steel and Supply Co.Survivors include his wife; two sons, John of Eugene and George of Springfield; two daughters, Martha Phillips of Portland and Heather Chamberlin of Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
