Obituary of Belma Eileen Kurdziel

KURDZIEL: Belma Eileen Kurdziel (née Sproule) of Brandon, beloved mother of Sandra, Barbara, Susan, Phyllis and Jamie, passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the age of 86 years. Belma was born February 11, 1925 to Joseph and Margaret Sproule in Brandon. She is survived by her daughters; Sandra (Jim Henderson), Barb (Doug) Brown, Susan Kurdziel, Phyllis (Rob) Milne, and Jamie Arnett. Belma is also survived by her grandchildren; Rob Evans, Jim (Marie) Evans, Geoff Brown, Matthew (Karis) Brown, Andrew (Janis Dorin) Brown, Jason Marshall, Angela (Jim Biss) Milne, Robyn (Scott Schongrunden) Milne, Jenny Milne, Marnie (Anthony) Radford, Jay (David Pecovnik) Arnett; great-grandchildren Sydney Biss, Soelle and Lark Radford. Belma also leaves to mourn her passing sisters; Ida Atkinson and Jose (Ed) Bachmier; sisters-in-law Barb Sproule and Mary Perchaluk; and brother-in-law Peter (Gertrude) Kurdziel. Belma was predeceased by her husband; Phillip Kurdziel in 1985; parents Joe and Margaret Sproule; sisters Bertha, Tony, Ethel and Rose; brothers Charlie, Jack, Joe, Allan, and Gordon; son-in-law Mark Arnett and other family members. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. James Ahaneku of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Belma may be made to a charity of choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Moller and staff at the Brandon Clinic; staff on A2 Modular 3 Assiniboine Centre, Home Care and We Care and many others for their care of our mother.
