Obituary of Hazel Katherine Trollope
TROLLOPE: Hazel Katherine Trollope of Brandon, passed away at Fairview Personal Care Home on Friday, November 12, 2010 in her 96th year. Hazel was born in Binscarth, MB to Charles and Katherine Strachan, on February 3, 1915. Hazel moved to Lauder, MB in her teen years, where she met and later married Allan Trollope. Allan and Hazel had four children. Hazel enjoyed a long and active life, with many interests. She was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge, a volunteer at the Brandon Hospital and a member of the Seniors for Seniors. Hazel loved to travel and she saw much of Canada and the USA, as well she went on a memorable trip to Scotland to visit family. Hazel is survived by her children: Dennis (Gisele) Trollope, Audrey (Art) Tripp, Keith (Marg) Trollope and Garry (Donna) Trollope. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family wish to thank the staff of the 2nd floor at Fairview Home for their compassionate care of Hazel during her stay.
A memorial service was held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Cathcart of Knox United Church officiating. Interment followed at Lauder Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends wish, donations may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, 150 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3
