Obituary of Annie May Ardiel

ARDIEL: Annie May Ardiel (née Brown) wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully with her family at her side on November 8, 2010, eight days after her 95th birthday. Annie was born at home in Minnewawa, Manitoba on October 31, 1915. She attended school in Minnewawa until age eight when the Brown family moved to the Carroll, Manitoba area where she lived until her marriage to John Ardiel on July 7, 1945. Annie and John moved to the Maple Cliff farm in Little Souris, where they farmed and raised two sons, Doug and Ron. In the years that followed, she welcomed two daughters-in-law (Pat and Betty) and six grandchildren (Beccy, Jenny, Rory, David, Shallon and Steven) and most recently, granddaughter-in-law Chantal and grandson-in-law Bryan joined Annie's family. Annie was predeceased by husband John; parents William and Emma Brown; sisters Ethel and Myrtle, brothers Bert, Art, Norm and Wilf; sisters-in-law Lucy Brown, Verna Brown, Catherine Ardiel and Jessi Nicol; brothers-in-law Paul Granger, Preston Nicol and Len Ardiel. Annie is survived by her sons and their families; Doug, wife Pat, children Beccy (Dan), Jenny, David and Steven; Ron, wife Betty, children Rory (Chantal), Shallon (Bryan); sisters-in-law Ester Brown, Connie Brown, Irene Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. A service to honour and celebrate Annie's life was held on November 12, 2010 at Brockie Donovan Chapel. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. A time of fellowship was held at Brandon Hills United Church. Pallbearers were Rory Ardiel, David Ardiel, Shallon Fowler, Steven Ardiel, Bryan Fowler and Dan Voth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annie's memory can be made to Brandon Hills United Church, R.R. #4, Box 58, Brandon, MB R7A 5Y4 or St. Mary's Anglican Church, 401 – 1st Street, Brandon, MB R7A 2W8 or to a charity of your choice.
