Obituary of Kathryn Duke
DUKE: Kathryn (September 27, 1915 - November 3, 2010). Kathryn passed away at the Palliative Care Unit, Red Deer Regional Hospital, in Red Deer, AB. She spent the last five years living with her daughter in Red Deer. Kathryn was an avid bingo player, five days a week, if you can imagine. She also loved trips to the casino in Belcourt, North Dakota. For years, she enjoyed bowling and in 1988 bowled in a championship in Carson City - Reno, Nevada. She had busy hands, always knitting something. Kathryn is survived by son Mike (Betty), Coquitlam, BC; daughters Doreen, Mesa, Arizona; Virginia, Red Deer, AB; grandsons Bill (April), St. Anthony, New Mexico; Dan (Carlena), Red Deer, AB; and granddaughter Susan (Ben) Nosara, Costa Rica. She was predeceased by husband Bill in 1985 and earlier by two sisters and four brothers. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Mona Franklin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kathryn may be made to a charity of your choice.
