Obituary of Selby Robert "Bob" Mashinter
MASHINTER: Selby (Bob) Mashinter, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away November 3, 2010, at the age of 85 years. Selby was devoted to his wife and family. Left to mourn Selby's passing are his wife Verna and family; Linda (Jack) Burns, Judy Stuart, Shelly (Chris) Girden, Darlene (Jerry) Antonation, Garth Mashinter (Rose), Terry (Rosine) Mashinter. Also surviving are Grandchildren Tammy and Jacqueline Burns, Jodie (Trevor) Gompf, Tara and Keith Stuart, Sean Baker (Daph), Todd (Amy) Baker, Sherry (Jeff) Albert, Scott (Kym) Antonation, Desmond, Tanner and Ryan Mashinter, Greg Mashinter (Patti), Lindsay Mashinter (Ryan); Great-Grandchildren Taylor Burns, Peyten Stuart and Zach Boryskiewich, Bailey, Denver and Spencer Gompf, Haley and TJ Baker, Kenzie and Ashley Albert, Julian and Brogan Antonation, Ty and Brayden Mashinter; sister Dorothy Shaw of Vancouver B.C. and many nieces and nephews. Selby was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Alice Mashinter, and brother Cyri Mashinter. Selby will be loved forever and sadly missed by all. Selby was a veteran of WWII. After discharge, he served in the Canadian Army Militia. Selby was employed in Shilo with DND until his retirement. A funeral service to honor Bob's life was held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Shannon McCarthy of Central United Church officiating. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. The pallbearers were grandsons Sean Baker, Scott Antonation, Todd Baker, Keith Stuart, Greg Mashinter, Desmond, Ryan and Tanner Mashinter. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 – 17th Street E., Brandon, MB R7A 7M6.
