Obituary of Eleanor Doreen Wettig

On July 12th, 2010 at 6:20 a.m., Doreen saw her last sunrise.
Doreen passed away in Brandon, MB peacefully, with her family at her side, after a long struggle with cancer. She was born in Miniota, MB to Ivan and Katherine Sparks (Predeceased). She lived throughout southwestern Manitoba until 1979 when she, her husband Morley, and family moved to the Northwest Territories. Doreen moved back to the Brandon area in 1998, after the death of her husband Morley in 1996.
Doreen is survived by her sons Shawn (April), Darren, and Sheldon (Kara), and her loving grandsons Thomas and Zachary who will forever miss their Nana. She was predeceased by her husband and closest friend, Morley, who also passed away from cancer in 1996. She will be fondly remembered by her many uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family of close friends that she and Morley made throughout their lives.

Special thanks are given to the staff of the Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care Centre in Brandon, who provided outstanding care to Doreen through all stages of her battle.
Funeral services will be held at St. Matthew's Anglican Cathedral in Brandon, on Friday, July 16th, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will take place at a future date in Maryfield, SK.
