Obituary of Mary Edith (Ede) Kufflick
KUFFLICK: Mary Edith (Ede) Kufflick passed away at the Assiniboine Centre on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the age of 92 years. Born January 4, 1918, she was raised in the Griswold District and received her education at Hillsdale School. She married Jim Kufflick in 1941. Edith was predeceased by her husband James, her son Russell, her parents Robert and Maggie Meadows, seven brothers, five sisters and cousin, Evelyn Kufflick. She leaves to mourn her passing one grandson Jason James, daughter-in-law Lorraine and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Edith and her family moved from the farm into the village of Griswold in 1948 and lived there until 1988 when she retired to live in Brandon. She was a member of the Griswold United Church where she served on the board for 17 years and was Secretary Treasurer of the Griswold Cemetery for 20 years. She was a member of the Griswold Curling Club for 30 years and also a member of the Eastern Star. Ede enjoyed people and was happy to help anyone at anytime. After moving from Griswold, Ede enjoyed coming out "home" to church and community functions. The Funeral Service will be held at the Griswold United Church on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Craig Miller officiating. A time of viewing will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Active Pallbearers will be: John Cross, Ivan Crampain, Dick Willman, Bob Stewart, Kenny Schmidt and R.J. Campbell. Interment will take place in the family plot at Griswold Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ede may be made to a charity of choice.
